Dead by Daylight has a whopping 130 killer perks for players to experiment with. These perks can enable an aggressive and high-risk, high-reward playstyle or enable you to defend generators till the very end. For every style of player, there are killer perks in Dead by Daylight that are best suited for them.

However, certain killer perks are objectively better in the current meta. The effects they provide and ease of execution make them stand out from the rest as the best killer perks in Dead by Daylight

Best killer perks in Dead by Daylight

Corrupt Intervention

Corrupt Intervention Dead by Daylight

Corrupt Intervention has been a meta killer perk in Dead by Daylight ever since its release in March 2019. Its effects are simple but very effective. Most importantly, it will always have guaranteed value in a trial for any killer.

Having the power to block the three farthest generators and force survivors to come close to you is a great way to put immediate pressure. On immobile killers that can’t patrol a lot of generators quickly, Corrupt Intervention is a godsent to help them get a strong early game and buy precious time.

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance

Pain Resonance DBD

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance is another killer perk that has never fallen out of the meta since its inception. The bonuses it provides to damaging generators is matched by few.

While it isn’t anywhere close to its peak strength, due to nerfs, Pain Resonance can still get incredible value and slot well into any generator slowdown build.

Unbound

Unbound Dead by Daylight

While Orela Rose was the highlight for survivors in Patch 8.7.0, the perk Unbound stole the show on the killers’ side of things. It used to be one of the weakest chase perks in the game.

However, a simple 5% Haste buff, to make the perk give 10% Haste, made it skyrocket in the meta. Its simple criteria and freedom to choose when to use it makes it an amazing chase perk on a variety of killers. When paired with Bamboozle, survivors that try to loop will be in for a nasty surprise.

Nowhere To Hide

Nowhere to Hide DBD

Nowhere to Hide is one of the best aura-reading perks in Dead by Daylight. Having the ability to detect survivors whenever kicking generators is a great way to initiate a chase and to detect more stealth-oriented players.

The aura read from this perk is also based on the killer’s radius rather than the generator. Therefore, you can use it to combo with high mobility killers to reveal survivors that are nowhere near the generator that you kicked, making this a very versatile perk.

No Holds Barred

No Holds Barred Dead by Daylight

No Holds Barred was called Deadlock prior to the removal of Pinhead (The Cenobite) from the game. Previously, you had to have prestiged The Cenobite once to make the perk unlock in every killer’s bloodweb. However, it has become a general perk available to all killers.

This is easily one of the best generator slowdown perks in the game. Blocking the most repaired generator for a lengthy amount of time whenever a generator is completed buys so much time for killers to end chases and get additional hook stages on multiple survivors. No Holds Barred will remain in the meta as long as the generator slowdown meta persists.

Discordance

Discordance Dead by Daylight

Discordance is one of the most underrated killer perks in the game. The amount of information this perk can provide is rivalled by few. Discordance, when paired with killers like Ken Kaneki, Hillbilly, Blight, and Nurse, becomes a game-defining perk.

Knowing if two survivors are working on a generator can automatically lead you to deduce where every survivor could be on the map. While it doesn’t buy time or secure a safe endgame, it makes up for it with incredibly consistent tracking potential.

Bamboozle

Bamboozle Dead by Daylight

While Unbound has undoubtedly made a huge rise in the current meta, Bamboozle will continue to remain the go-to chase perk for many M1 killers. On killers like Bubba and Hillbilly, this perk is almost a must as it alleviates one of their biggest weaknesses which are windows.

The ability to vault faster and blocking a window for a good amount of time can completely shut down powerful loops such as the Killer Shack and the main building of many maps. Bamboozle is an invaluable perk on low-mobility killers and an important asset in closing out chases.

Pop Goes The Weasel

Pop Goes the Weasel DBD

Pop Goes the Weasel has been in and out of the Dead by Daylight killer meta. More recently, it has been a cornerstone in the generator slowdown meta. While killers with little to no mobility get slightly less value from it, the perk is still extremely viable and provides consistent value for simply hooking survivors.

The slowdown Pop Goes the Weasel provides is unparalleled and can buy crucial time to stall out the game. It works very well in defending a highly-contested generator and shines in three-gen scenarios.

No Way Out

No Way Out DBD

No Way Out is the best endgame killer perk in Dead by Daylight. Getting the chance to block exit gates for an entire minute, provided you hook all four survivors once, is an absolute game-changer.

One minute in the endgame is a lot of time to secure another kill to change a 2k into a potential 3k or even 4k. The additional notification it provides also makes it a good information perk.

Hex: Blood Favor

Hex Blood Favor DBD

Hex: Blood Favor can be argued as the strongest Hex perk in the game. It is one of the few perks that can counter pallets in a chase. Landing one hit on a survivor can block almost all major pallets on indoor maps like The Game.

While it is high-risk, high-reward — which is to be expected with a Hex perk, it can quickly end chases that might have been unwinnable without the perk. In the right circumstances, Hex: Blood Favor can absolutely decimate survivors that are too reliant on pallets in loops.
